A former resident of Dallas, Texas has won the Jubilee nomination for the Senate seat in Nakuru County.

Susan Kihika, the current Nakuru County Assembly speaker, won overwhelmingly, garnering 192,596 against her challenger Karanja Kabage who had 30,916 votes.

Susan practiced law in Dallas, Texas for several years before moving back to Kenya to contest in the 2013 general elections. After unsuccessfully contesting a parliamentary seat in the 2013 elections, she then ran for and was elected the County Assembly Speaker on a TNA ticket.

She is a daughter of the late long-time Nakuru politician Kihika Kimani.
