Former Bomet governor Isaac Rutto is unfit to hold a Cabinet position, a section of Members of Bomet County Assembly have told President Kenyatta.
Speaking during a press briefing on Friday, the MCAs said that Rutto is a corrupt leader and the fact that he did not campaign for the President and Deputy President should makes him unsuitable to be appointed to the Cabinet.
Led by Embomos MCA Robert Serbai, the asked Uhuru and Ruto not to consider Rutto for any position, stating that he was involved in corrupt deals while st the helm of Bomet County government.
“We know him very well. He misused public funds in Bomet and residents cannot tolerate him anymore,” Serbai said.
Former Bomet senator Wilfred Lesan also echoed the calls by the MCAs and described Rutto as “a wolf in sheepskin.”
The Chama Cha Mashinani (CCM) leader joined opposition National Super Alliance (NASA) in the run to August 8th election as the coalition's fifth principal, but declared his support for President Uhuru reelection in the repeat presidential election after Supreme Court annulled August 8th election.
Rutto suffered defeat in the hands of Jubilee's Dr. Joyce Laboso in the race to secure his second term as Bomet Governor. Ruto has since maintained a low profile and has been missing in the eye of public.
