A Kenyatta University bus nearly plunged into the Indian Ocean on Monday after it reportedly slid off the ferry at Likoni Channel in Mombasa.
The bus was disembarking from the vessel when it slid off from the ramp into the shallow waters but the driver managed to steer it to safety.
In a short video shared on social media, the driver of the bus is seen trying to prevent the bus from going further into the sea as ferry commuters watch in shock.

Eyewitnesses said passengers were still on the bus despite there being a rule that prohibits people from remaining inside their vehicles while crossing the channel.
The incident comes weeks after a private car rolled from MV Harambee Ferry midstream and sunk into the ocean, killing a mother, Mariam Kighenda, 35, and her four-year-old daughter Amanda Mutheu.
The car and the bodies of the two were retrieved from the seabed nearly two weeks after the incident.
