A book on Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s leadership style authored by his former aide is out. The book “Peeling Back the Mask” authored by Raila’s former adviser on coalition affairs Miguna Miguna is set for pre-release promotion in London by a United Kingdom’s Gilgamesh-Publishing.

In what is expected to be an explosive memoir, the book is an insider revelation of “secrets” inside Raila’s leadership life.

Though it is feared that details in the book could escalate propaganda against Raila currently touted by pollsters as an election front-runner, loyalists dismissed it as a collection of common half-truths already in public domain by a bitter man.

“In his explosive new memoir Peeling Back the Mask, Miguna assesses Mr Odinga’s leadership – questioning his credentials as a reformist,” read a message by the publisher on Thursday.

According to the publisher, the book presents a true insider account of the intrigues, discussions and power plays surrounding the leadership of the PM.

Speaking to The Standard, Miguna said he is set to travel to London on Sunday to attend a publisher’s pre-release promotion to be conducted in five countries.

“We plan to launch the book in London, Kenya, Canada, USA and South Africa later in July,” Miguna said. The international circulation of the book is calculated to attract wide attention because of Raila’s international repute and his Pan-African persona.

The official release of Peeling Back the Mask whose cover price is Sh3,345 (UK£ 24.95) in Kenya is scheduled for June 30.

Miguna fell out with Raila late last year after the premier ordered his suspension without pay.

The former confidante turned down his reinstatement sparking off an emotional falling out, which resulted in writing of the memoir.

Although I fear to trust any negative sentiments from individuals who wait until they have personal differences with others in order to speak of what they commonly refer to as hidden secrets about the others, I would have an exception on this one from Mr. Miguna Miguna, owing to one thing in the past about Prime Minister Hon. Raila Odinga. In 1982, Hon. Raila testified agaist the former Minister for Constitutional affairs, Sir Charles Mugane Njonjo before a Commission of Inquiries. At the Kenya Parliament buildings, Hon. Raila testified that Sir Charles Njonjo was the mastermind of the 1982 coup attempt. In his book, Hon Raila clearly states that he was the mastermind of the 1982 coup attempt. His lies about the former Minister for Justice in Kenya, Sir Charles Njonjo, creates so many doubts in me about Hon. Railas' honesty.

This book is in bad taste. If you really believe in Democracy, you dont wait till when you are sacked out of misconduct then start tainting your boss,s name falsely.Miguna should have left Raila a long time if he was not comfortable working with him.

Now you can imagine what could have happened if Raila and his cronies got the full loaf of bread? if they can be involved in these mega scandals now, how about if they had full control of the government?

These are not reformists as they claim, but hungry hyenas waiting for their time to eat and plunder the economy.

Kenyans should think thrice before they cast ballots in the next eight months.

This is the most mediocre way a whole layer like Miguna could use to intimidate his boss,if he knew all this why didn't he say it earlier.if i may say he was the one giving giving the advices could that be wrong?Miguna should style up.

Your comment Nelson was spot on. Miguna should as well be implicated in the PEV election cases. As an advisor of Raila, Kenyans would like to know more about his role and involvement at that time.

Miguna owes Kenyans more information about the PEV. As an advisor of Raila during that time, he should tell us his role and involvement in what happened. Most likely his advice played a major role in the whole mess.

please..before anyone decides for his/herself that this book was written out of malice..please remember to read the book first...you'll note that MM really believed in the PM, that's why he relocated back to Kenya..and left a good job in Canada... loyalty does that sometimes...you turn a blind eye to the people closest to you because of all the sacrifices you've made for them..Read the book, it's not written out of malice but disappointment

its 2 late 4 miguna to spill out this why did he wait until he was sacked.if he claim to be a true kenyan he should have raised the alarm earlier for the govt to take the neccesary action.

WHAT KIND OF ADVISE WAS HE GIVING TO THE PRIME MINISTER? HE SHOULD BE AWARE THIS CAN COST ALOT TO INNOCENT PPLE GREAT PRAYERS ARE NEEDED FOR PEACE TO PREVAIL
