NBA Star Dirk Nowitzki Weds His Kenyan Girlfriend in a Traditional Ceremony in Kenya

Dirk Nowitzki, a superstar basketball player for the NBA team Dallas Mavericks, married his longtime girlfriend Jessica Olsson in Kenya over the weekend. The two allegedly had a traditional Kenyan wedding ceremony, with Dirk wearing an African garb. They plan to have another ceremony in Dirk's native Germany.

Jessica is born of a Kenyan mother and a Swedish father who both live in Sweden. Her two brothers, Martin and Marcus Olsson play professional football in the English Premier League. She is the associate director of the Goss-Michael Foundation art gallery based in Dallas, Texas.

The 34-year-old German-born Dirk Nowitzki helped the Mavericks win the 2011 NBA Championship. He is an 11-time NBA All-Star and has led the Mavericks to 12 consecutive NBA playoffs (2001-2012). Also among his career highlights are bieng named the 2007 NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) and the 2011 German Sports-personality of the year.
