Los Angeles-Based Kenyan TV Personality Rachel Marete Auditioning for BET's 106 & Park

Former Kenyan beauty queen and current TV personality Rachel Marete is currently auditioning to become host of 106 & Park, BET's highest rated show.

Rachel was Miss Kenya 2005 and represented Kenya at the 2005 Miss Universe Pageant. She is currently based in Los Angeles where she is the current TV Host and Associate Producer for the V Style Show on the V Channel Shopping Network on SKY 664, broadcasting live from Los Angeles to Europe.

Rachel is a former News and Entertainment show host at Transit TV in Los Angeles. Before moving to the United States in 2007, she was one of the anchors of Good Morning Kenya on KBC TV. She has also hosted several red carpet movie premiers and award shows, Super Bowls and other entertainment events in several cities including Miami, New York and Los Angeles.

Speaking to Mwakilishi.com recently, Rachel said she hopes to become the first African host of the show and bring some African flavor to 106 & Park. She believes her vast media experience, including live TV makes her the ideal choice to become the next host of the show.

About 106 & Park

106 & Park is American hip hop and R&B music video show set up in a countdown format, that airs Monday-Friday at 6/5c on BET (7:00 PM on BET UK). Since its inception, it was the network's #1 rated show. It is currently the only show on the BET network that shows music videos.
