A Kenyan living in the USA is running for the Teso South parliamentary seat in the upcoming general elections. Born in Teso, Denzel Musumba moved to the United States in 2010 and is currently based in Silver Spring, Maryland.
Saying youth make up the majority in Kenya’s population, the youthful Denzel says they need to be empowered and the main focus should be on them. He says his main agenda is to fight vices exposed to the youth, which lead to a corrupt and unproductive generation.
His other vision is for the Teso women to be economically and politically empowered, which will in turn upgrade their lifestyles and those of their families. He will also work to improve the education standards of Teso South by reducing congestion in classes by building more schools, upgrading existing infrastructure and introducing the use of new technology.
A holder of a degree in Journalism and Mass Communication and a broadcaster by profession, Denzel runs East Africa Radio USA, a radio station for the East African Diaspora based in the United States.
