Kenyan National Charged with Child Rape in Olathe, Kansas

Maurine Mutindi Kimwele, charged with child rape

Prosecutors in Olathe, Kansas have charged Maurine Mutindi Kimwele, a native of Mombasa, Kenya, with the rape of a child less than 14 years of age.

Maurine, 23 years old, has been charged with rape and aggravated indecent liberties with a child. She is being held on a $100,000 bond at the Johnson County Detention Center. Prosecutors would nor confirm the gender of the victim or his/her exact age. According to prosecutors, Maureen had sex with the child between April and September 2010. She is accused of fondling and touching the same victim again on July 16, 2012.

She was arraigned in court this afternoon. As a condition for bond, she will be required to surrender her passport to avoid her fleeing the country.
