ICC Prosecutor: Suspects Must Face Justice
ICC chief prosecutor Bensouda says the four Kenyan post poll violence suspects must face justice.
She said this on Monday afternoon after landing in the country, while briefing the press on her five-day visit at the Serena Hotel, Nairobi.
The ICC chief prosecutor stated the ICC process will continue irrespective of the outcome of the political process in Kenya adding that the ICC judges have substantial evidence to prosecute the suspects.
She stressed that the people of Kenya are not on trial and neither the government of Kenya nor any ethnic community and ICC will carry out genuine proceedings against the perpetrators of the post poll violence.
She said she was in the country to tour post poll violence hotspots and interact with internally displaced persons.
Bensouda lauded Kenyans, civil societies, and diplomats for their critical support to the ICC.
She also added the ICC is working at a full speed to ensure the suspects are prosecuted and pointed out that the political future of Kenya is in the hands of Kenyans to decide the outcome through the elections.
The four suspects will be allowed to have legal representation in the trial.
She is set to meet President Kibaki and Prime Minister Raila Odinga on Tuesday and also meet other key Government officers among them Chief Justice Willy Mutunga, members of the Cabinet sub-committee on ICC matters, and National Security Intelligence Service Director General, Michael Gichangi.
Her visit comes only days after former United Nations boss Kofi Annan left the country. Annan had warned that the presidency of Uhuru or Ruto would be dangerous for Kenya.

Listen up Bensouda or Bethsaida whatever your name is: You cannot fool Kenyas with your political mission. You were called in by Annan and Raila to come and apply pressure on Uhuru, the next President of Kenya, but your EU and illuminati mission has failed. What Kenyans want to hear is not the stale "warnings" from old shameless Ocampo. The ICC is being used against GEMA and KAMATUSA by Raila and his EU and British vampires.....especialy now that they are sniffing oil in Kenya. The kangaroo tactics will flop and Kenya will be milked with the help of Raila.
Kenyans want to see you interviewing Miguna Miguna and Tony Gachoka while you are in Kenya so that the real culprit, Raila, can face the justice you are trying to scare innocent people. Anything short of interviewing Gachoka and Miguna and inlcluding Raila on your defendant's list will be flushed down the toilet for the poop it is. If you are not there to do the right thing, please use your little allowance to pass by poor Gambia and buy some sugar for your grandma. As for Uhuru and Ruto, please soldier on. Go away Bensouda. Kenyans are not that naive. Where have you ever seen Kenyans going to hold press conferences in foreign countries. Why are Kenyans so backwards to keep allowing all kinds of foreign goons masquarading as world leaders to come lecture them and poopoo all over Serena and around the country. Is there no government to protect Kenyans from psychological and political abuse from foreigners???????????????
Also don't Kibaki have a strategy for exposing these shameless Raila tactics of bringing in foreigners to do his evil binding; Does Kibaki have strategists or they just a bunch of clueless folks whose only interest is big business deals and ZERO political strategizing??? How come Kibaki has ZERO foreigners coming in to lecture Raila and ODM? Kibaki's approach has pushed Kenya into a very shameful corner. He should have countered these Raila nonsense 5-10 years ago but he just keeps watching things go south hoping all shall be well. Get with it mzee and your strange strategists? Who are your advisors??????????????????? Will Githu Muigai tell off Bensouda and ICC as he did in Europe recently or he will use their strategy of folding tails and driving hypocrites around in limousines? It is pathetic to see Kenyan men running around and pulling chairs for Bensoudas and Ocampos like the days of colonialists. Who rushes to give you chairs when you travel overseas??????????????? Grow up Kenyans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ICC are moving slower than we expected. This ought to have been completed before elections. What if those elected will be found guilty? Will they be forced to step down or go to jail? The ICC guidelines on the scope of the alleged perpetrators needs to be clear, are they legally allowed to run for a public office pending the conclusion of their cases?
