Celtic manager Neil Lennon has valued Victor Wanyama at £25 million and believes he is good enough to play for Barcelona.

Wanyama, 21, has impressed hugely since joining the club last summer for £900,000 from Beerschot, leading to the Kenya international being linked with a number of Premier League clubs.

And the midfielder won further praise for his performance in the 2-1 defeat to Barcelona on Tuesday, causing his boss to claim he is good enough to play for them one day.

Asked if he thought whether Wanyama was good enough to pull on the Bara shirt, Lennon replied: "I think he is, yes."

"25 million," Lennon added when asked to put a price on the player.

"Wanyama has the world at his feet. But his feet are here and they won't be going anywhere unless we say so."

Lennon also expressed his disappointment at Wanyama's agent who revealed on Thursday that his client had turned down a new contract offer from Celtic - something that is news to him.

Despite the comments, the former Norther Ireland international is still under the belief that the player is settled at the Scottish Premier League club.

"A month ago, he went on record saying how happy he was here and I have no reason not to believe that," he said.
