USA-Based Kenyans to Host Major Soccer Tournament May 24-26 in Dallas, Texas

The Kenyan Diaspora Sports Organization (DSO) will host a soccer tournament in Dallas USA that will bring together Kenyan teams featuring former players living and working in USA. The first annual Kenya-DSO Dallas memorial soccer tournament will be held from May 24th through May 26th 2013 at the MVC Sports Complex in Dallas, Texas.

Among the teams expected to take part in the tournament include: Kansas city,Oklahoma,Atlanta, Jamhuri FC, New Jessey, St Louis, a visiting Kenyan team to be announced later, Ghana soccer team based in Dallas, Kentucky, Florida, A Cameroon team based in Dallas and  Minnesota.

“We have also organized other numerous social activities to keep everyone entertained, busy and happy. All the events are and will always be tailor made for Kenyans by Kenyans to make you” feel at home away from home” while in the Diaspora.” Says the tournament organizing committee secretary Arnold Osumba.

Former players chaired by Tom Odhiambo, Gerald Origi and Ochieng Siranga from Oklahoma. Timo Kibune from Kansas, Bentie Amwayi from Kentucky, Brian Okumu from Atlanta Georgia and Jimmy Odhiambo from California will conduct youth soccer clinics to upcoming players in the Diaspora.

“We are looking forward to having a great time and meet many friends during this major soccer extravaganza that will reunite most of us.” Says one of the partner organizers Agrippa Nyanje.

Agrippa Nyanje played for Re-union in 1996 before moving to AFC in 1997.
