The 2012 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Examination (KCSE) results were released earlier this morning by Education Minister Mutula Kilonzo along with top education officials and top officials of Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) at Mitihani House, Nairobi.

Tony Edgar of Maseno emerged the top student nationally, followed by Oliver Kiaye of Miranda School, and Victor Bolola of Alliance High School.

In schools rankings, Moi High School, Kabarak emerged the top school nationally with a mean score of 78.85, folowed by Alliance High School (78.49), Mary Mother of Grace High School (76.72), Strathmore School and Kenya High School in that order.

Analysing performance by county,the top five counties were Samburu County, West Pokot, Elgeyo Marakwet, Siaya and Embu.

A total of 436,349 candidates sta the examination in 2012.
