The family and friends of Zarah (Zee), a 2-year-old girl in Dallas, Texas battling a rare childhood cancer known as Neuroblastoma is appealing to the public to help them raise funds needed for treatment. See the appeal below from the family and friends:

On April 25th from 6pm-8pm, Amani Ya Juu has been invited to host an event fundraiser/Kenyan cultural event with Collaborate to Impact at the Kenyan Embassy in DC. A $15 donation gets attendees hors d'oeuvres, a drink, entrance to an Amani Trunk Show featuring our latest shipment from Kenya, and a musical performance from Kenyan artist Anna Mwalagho. We've also been told that the Kenyan Ambassador will be in attendance if he is in the US.

Patrick Gitu, a Kenyan living in Houston, Texas was diagnosed with kidney disease several years ago and has been stable on diet modifications and medication until this past year. He has to have a kidney removed in June due to a questionable mass and this will necessitate dialysis. He will only be allowed to have a kidney if he is cancer-free. If he does have cancer, we have to wait two years before he can get a transplant. We are in the process of screening for a donor and, barring complications, hoping for a transplant soon.

The wife of a Kenyan man in Des Moines, Iowa beaten unconscious in a carjacking last week is seeking financial help from the community with the mounting medical bills for the husband as he remain in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

The Baltimore organizing committee, on behalf of the Murang'a Catholic Diocese, invites you to a fundraising event towards building of a Christian Formation Center in Murang'a County. You are invited to a fundraiser to "Bring Zack Back Home" on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Simba Tropical Grill located at 333 Naamans Rd, Claymont, Delaware 19703 starting at 5:00pm.

Zack experienced a triple tragedy in a series of events where he lost his wife in a road accident, lost his job and got in a car accident that left him paralyzed. He recently made his way to South Africa on a wheelchair to raise money for a spinal cord injury rehabilitation center in Kenya.
