The Diaspora Advisory Councils Should be Dissolved Immediately

Printer-friendly versionPDF version

The Diaspora Advisory Council - New England which has now turned political, should be dissolved with immediate effect. Its Founder and Patron, His Excellency Ambassador Elkanah Odembo should resign from the Civil service as soon as possible. At the same time, Mr. John Maina, the representative of the Diaspora at the Prime Minister's office, should also resign from his position immediately. Their involvement in the Kenya politics disqualifies them from the Civil Service. The Kenya Constitution is very clear about the Kenya Civil Servants and the Kenya Politics. Whoever desires to join politics must resign from the Civil Service first. The two have openly engaged in Kenya politics against the Kenya Constitution. The two officers have therefore not only violated their terms and conditions of their duties in the civil service, but they have also abused and violated the Kenya Constitution.

Earlier in the year, The Ambassador and the Chairman of the Diaspora Advisory Council - New England, Bishop Wambua planned for a tour of USA and Canada to collect signatures from Kenyans in a process to stop them from what they said was their involvement in the chaos in Kenya. http://www.standardmedia.co.ke/?id=2000055751&cid=4&articleID=2000055751. As of today, there are no doubts whatsoever, that the Ambassador Diaspora Advisory Councils were found for only one mission, to campaign for certain individuals in the coming General elections in Kenya. http://www.mwakilishi.com./content/blogs/2012/05/12/the-effects-of-the-a....

Kenyans in the Diaspora have different views and visions regarding the Kenya politics. They also support different political parties and different individuals for different positions of leadership in Kenya. Because of its partisanship in the Kenya politics, the Ambassador Diaspora Advisory Council has outlived its usefulness as an organization to represent Kenyans in the Diaspora and has no mandate at all, to represent Kenyans in the Diaspora anymore. Mr. John Maina, whose sole responsibility is to oversee the concerns of Kenyans in the Diaspora has turned a blind eye and has chosen the partisan politics in support of the ODM. Look at paragraph 5 of the following link. http://www.ajabuafrica.com/Politics.html.

The dissolution of the Diaspora Advisory Council - New England and the subsequent resignation of both His Excellency Elkanah Odembo and Mr. John Maina will save themselves and its Chairman, Bishop Wambua from the foreseeable embarrassment from the Kenya Community abroad commonly known as the "Diaspora". Resign now and dissolve the Diaspora Council today.

Kiniti, you hot the nail on the head. Waende wapige siasa huko mtaaani. We are tired of con games. Taxpayers' money should never be used to bankroll any politician's political campaign. Odembo must go!

The Kiniti, whats up with using the word 'the' before every few words? Anyway, keep dreaming about Odembo going. Remember he is a consensus civil servant. Also, if you think KDACs are bad vehicles, just dont board. Leave those who want to join alone.
