Kenyans in Atlanta, Georgia, have organized two events to celebrate the upcoming Mashujaa Day.

On Saturday, October 22nd from 1pm, the Kenya Diaspora Advisory Council of Georgia (KDAC – GA) invites all Kenyans to a FREE Family Barbeque at Roswell Riverside Park in Roswell, GA. The address is Roswell Riverside Park, 575 Riverside Rd, Roswell, GA 30075. KDAC – GA promises lots of food, games and great music at the park. For more info please contact Eric at kdacga@gmail.com or text 678-230-4727.

On Saturday, October 29th, KDAC – GA has organized a Formal Dinner event that will take place at the Marietta Hilton Hotel from 6:30pm to 11pm. Local Kenyan heroes will be honored at the event, touted as the biggest celebration awards of the year. The event will also be a celebration of the youth, whose are the future leaders.

Tickets to the Dinner event are $60 per person or $100 per couple and can be purchased at www.eventbrite.com/e/mashujaa-day-atlanta-2016-tickets-27744876673. For more information please contact Eric at kdacga@gmail.com or text 678-230-4727.

KDAC - ATL

Mashujaa is Swahili for Hero and Mashujaa Day is a Kenyan National Holiday observed on October 20th to honor all those that contributed towards the struggle for Kenya’s Independence, and it was previously known as Kenyatta Day in honor of Kenya’s first President Jomo Kenyatta who was seen as a Hero by many.

Thanks to KDAC for organizing this events. I hope that you will in the same spirit communicate to the Hon Ambassador Githae and our Patriots in the Embassy of the republic of Kenya to consider and socialize the date when they will finally issue Kenyan ID's to the Diaspora in the state of GA like they have gracefully done in other states. As a concerned Kenyan in the Atlanta area, I feel disenfranchised that we have to beg the Embassy to facilitate issuance of Kenyan ID's . Petition please!!
