A monstrous tornado as much as a mile wide roared through the Oklahoma City suburbs, setting buildings on fire and landing a direct blow on a grade school.

The latest Oklahoma tornado death toll at 51 came from Amy Elliot, spokeswoman for the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner's Office. She said seven of the deaths came from the loss at Plaza Towers Elementary School in Moore, Okla.

In a news conference Monday evening, Gov. Mary Fallin said, "We are trying to make sure we have looked under every piece of debris to find anyone who might be injured or lost."

US President Barack Obama

US President Barack Obama will visit three African nations next month. Obama will visit Senegal, South Africa, and Tanzania from June 26th to July 3rd in his second trip to Africa as the US president. Just like his previous 2009 trip to Africa as US president, Obama will once again skip visiting Kenya, his father's homeland.

The trip is aimed to reinforce the ties between the US and sub-Saharan countries, according to a message from the White House.

Here is the full press release from the White House:

One ticket has won the largest Powerball jackpot in history -- $590.5 million -- bought at a Publix supermarket in Zephyrhills, Fla., a lottery official said.

The ticket had the winning numbers of 22, 10, 13, 14, 52 and Powerball number 11, said David Bishop, deputy secretary of Florida Lottery.

Saturday's jackpot was the largest in Powerball history, surpassing a $587.6 million jackpot split in November by winners in Arizona and Missouri, CNN reported Sunday.

The largest lottery jackpot in U.S. history was the March 2012 Mega Millions game worth $656 million.

Britain is one of the most racially tolerant countries on the planet, a survey claims. The global social attitudes study claims that the most racially intolerant populations are all in the developing world, with Bangladesh, Jordan and India in the top five.

By contrast, the study of 80 countries over three decades found Western countries were most accepting of other cultures with Britain, the U.S., Canada and Australia more tolerant than anywhere else.

Daring thieves have made off with tens of thousands of dollars in cash from a Justin Bieber concert in Johannesburg, South African police said Monday.

Burglars dug into a safe room in the city's Soccer City stadium -- the venue of the 2010 football World Cup Final -- just hours after the Canadian pop star wowed a sell-out crowd.

"The suspect had gained entry through the roof," said police spokeswoman Katlego Mogale.

"They broke the tile... of the bathroom between last night (Sunday) after the concert, and this morning."

UK Prime Minister David Cameron

The British government has defended meetings by its officials with President Uhuru Kenyatta despite his indictment by the International Criminal Court.

Prime Minister David Cameron told the BBC that he met Uhuru because Kenya was playing a vital role fighting al-Shabaab in Somalia.

He said Uhuru had assured him that he was cooperating with the ICC and in Cameron's view, he is "innocent until proved guilty." Before the elections, the UK said it would have only "essential contact" with Uhuru if he was elected president because he is an ICC indictee.

China committed more than $75 billion to Africa in the past decade, coming close to the level of US money although the nature of Beijing's support was far different, a study said Monday.

The database released by the Center for Global Development aims to be the most comprehensive account yet of foreign assistance by China, which has faced criticism in Western countries suspicious of Beijing's motives.

Wadih El-Hage

A former personal secretary to Osama bin Laden received a life sentence in a US prison for his role in the 1998 bombing of US embassies in Nairobi and Dar-es-Salaam.

Wadih El-Hage, who served as bin Laden’s secretary in Sudan, was sentenced 12 years ago for the bombings that killed 224 people.

El-Hage is one of the four people convicted in 2001 for their roles in the bombings.

The Lebanese-born US citizen said before he was sentenced that disasters that hit the US were “Allah’s punishment” for injustice against himself and others by the US.
