Raila a Political 'Conman', Says Ruto

John Wanjohi May 04, 2017

Deputy President William Ruto has dismissed National Super Alliance Presidential candidate Raila Odinga as a ‘political conman’.

Ruto, in his typical attacks on his former party leader, said that Jubilee does not fear Odinga, expressing confidence in President Uhuru Kenyatta's re-election following his good track record in the last four years.

“There is nothing to fear at all. As government, we have done a lot including settling infrastructure among many other sectors,” he said.

“NASA did not give us anything new. It was the same political conman whom we shall defeat as usual. I hope this time around he will retire peacefully.”He added.

Odinga will be facing President Uhuru Kenyatta in the August 8 polls after he was named the Opposition Coalition’s Presidential flag bearer last week after months of intensive deliberations among NASA's various opposition affiliate parties.

Former Vice president Kalonzo Musyoka was named Raila’s running mate in the August 8 polls that experts have termed as one of the most competitive elections in Kenya’s history.

The National Super Alliance NASA will be looking to discredit the Jubilee administration during the campaign period by pointing out on the various scandals that have happened during the current administration, as well as the high cost of living.

NASA has already crafted an elaborate formula that it will use to dislodge President Uhuru Kenyatta from power projecting a first round win.

Jubilee on the other hand maintains that the same results as 2013 will be replicated, given that the same pair that the Jubilee team defeated in 2013 is running again.
