Muthama Threatens to Reveal Very Damaging Information about Kalonzo that Will "Shake the Whole Country"

The rift between NASA running mate Kalonzo Musyoka and Machakos Senator Johnstone Muthama escalated on Saturday, with Muthama threatening to spill information he says he has about Kalonzo that is very damaging and will shock the entire nation.

Speaking to Sunday Standard, Muthama said he has waited for years to speak to the true character of Kalonzo, adding that at the opportune time he will reveal it all.

“I do not rush into things and you know that. I take my time, but when I do, I do not hold back. What I have and what I am promising to reveal is shocking... shocking information that will shake the whole country,” Muthama told Sunday Standard.

He continued, saying “I have a story to tell Kenyans and I will do so at the opportune time. For now, I have a nation, a community, a name and credibility to protect. When that time comes and I open my mouth, the whole country will be shaken.” he said.

“Verily, nobody will catch sleep in Kenya once I tell all this.”

The two former longtime allies from the Ukambani region fell out in recent weeks after Muthama said Kalonzo orchestrated shambolic Wiper Democratic Party nominations in Ukmbanai counties such as Machakos and Makueni. Muthama said Kalonzo runs the party in a dictatorial manner as if the party is his personal property.

Muthama has also opposed Kalonzo’s nomination of his own son to the East Africa Legislative Assembly. “We cannot nominate the father as the Deputy President and proceed to nominate the son as an MP. That position can go to another deserving Kenyan whose family is not anywhere near the top leadership of the country. That way we will bring on board others from their small corners into leadership,” said Muthama.

Last week, Muthama announced that as a result of Kalonzo’s mismanagement of Wiper he had quit the party and said he will not be contesting the Machakos Senatorial seat to re-capture his seat. He also said he will campaign for Raila Odinga as the NASA presidential candidate but not for any candidates running under the Wiper ticket.

A source close to Kalonzo Musyoka has dismissed Muthama’s threats, adding that Kalonzo’s life has been an open book and that he has no beans to be spilled.
