Kidero Threatens to Arrest Mike Sonko

John Wanjohi Jun 14, 2017

Nairobi County Governor Evans Kidero has threatened to have his rival in the Nairobi governor race, Senator Mike Sonko arrested. The governor accused that senator of vandalizing water pipes in the city.

According to Kidero, Sonko has been playing politics by pretending to be providing solutions to the water problem that has faced Kenya’s capital city for long.

The County boss said that Sonko was wrecking water pipes belonging to the Nairobi City County ‘steal’ water and warning him that if he continues, he will have him arrested.

"He is getting the water through vandalizing pipes belonging to Nairobi water and making the situation even worse by supplying water whose hygienic condition cannot be ascertained.” The Governor said.

"We are going to arrest him and his team if he continues vandalizing the water pipes," Kidero warned.

He lectured Sonko that supplying water using trucks would not solve the problem in Nairobi as that was just 'like a drop in the ocean'.

The two will be locking horns in the August 8 polls, as Jubilee’s Sonko looks to unseat Kidero who is defending his seat on an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).
