Jubilee Appoints Winnie Guchu and Former Energy CS Davis Chirchir as Chief Agents in Upcoming Election

President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee party has appointed Winnie Guchu and former Energy Cabinet Secretary Davis Chirchir as its Chief Agent and Deputy Chief Agent the forthcoming elections respectively, Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju Winnie said on Monday.

Winnie is an independent consultant and a trainer on democracy, governance and electoral processes.

Chirchir has experience in electoral matters and process, being a former officer in charge of Information Communication Technology at the Interim Independent Electoral Commission and will deputize Guchu, also an ex-IIEC commissioner.

Chirchir was later appointed Energy CS by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Chirchir was later dismissed as Energy Cabinet Secretary after accusations of being involved in graft by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission but later cleared of the charges.

Chirchir had been charged alongside Ben Chumo of Kenya Power for colluding to embezzle Sh90 million relocated from the Kenya Pipeline Company to Kenya Power bank account.

Chirchir was fired alongside Cabinet Secretaries Charity Ngilu (Lands), Felix Koskei (Agriculture), Kazungu Kambi (Labour) and Michael Kamau (Transport).

Last week, Opposition outfit National Super Alliance (NASA) appointed Siaya Senator James Orengo as its Chief Agent.
