Raila Maintains Lead against President Uhuru in Latest Infotrak Opinion Poll
A new Infotrak opinion poll released on Tuesday shows that National Super Alliance (NASA) presidential candidate Raila Odinga is ahead of his main rival, President Uhuru Kenyatta.
The findings of the poll released on Tuesday by Infotrak Chief Executive Officer Angela Ambitho indicates that former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has a 49 per cent rating, while Uhuru Kenyatta is second with 48 per cent.
The survey indicates that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader is leading in Coast, Eastern, Western, Nyanza and Nairobi regions while Uhuru leads in Rift Valley, Central and North Eastern.
Tunza Coalition presidential contender Abduba Dida is third with 0.3 per cent of the votes, while Third Way Alliance presidential contestant Ekuru Aukot would garner 0.1 per cent of the votes.
Only 2 per cent of the sampled voters were undecided, the Infotrak poll shows.
“We only spoke to registered voters and those who clearly stated that they intend to vote,” said Angela Ambitho.
5, 000 voters were interviewed during the poll.
“It is clear that only Raila Odinga or Uhuru Kenyatta can win in the presidential race. The 2 per cent undecided voters will handle the tie. The 2 per cent can go either way and determine the outcome. Either Raila Odinga or Uhuru Kenyatta will clinch the presidency,” said Ms Ambitho.
In a previous by Infotrak poll – released last week Odinga came ahead of President Kenyatta, with a 47 per cent approval rating to Uhuru Kenyatta’s 46 per cent.
