President Uhuru Sends Warning to Those Planning to Cause Chaos During Elections
President Uhuru Kenyatta says that anyone planning to cause chaos during the elections will face the full force of the law.
Speaking in Kilifi, the head of state called on Kenyans to cast their ballot peacefully and go home and wait for the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) to do its work.
“Nobody should be intimidated into voting in a particular way,” said President Kenyatta. “Action will be taken against those who cause violence,” he added.
He called on residents to vote for Jubilee and allow him complete the transformation agenda that he has laid foundation for in the last four and half years.
“The choice will be between development and progress against rhetoric, propaganda and tribalism.
“They (National Super Alliance flag bearer Raila Odinga and his running mate Kalonzo Musyoka) told you we would be jailed by ICC but we still won in 2013.” Uhuru said.
Speaking earlier in Makueni County, President Uhuru Kenyatta warned Chiefs who have been working with the opposition National Super Alliance (NASA) during the electioneering period, saying that action will be taken against them.
"You should appreciate that the allowances you are drawing and the motorcycles you ride are properties of Jubilee,” The head of state warned.
"We know what you are doing and we shall deal with you after the elections," he said.
