Incumbent Nairobi governor Evans Kidero of ODM has rejected the election results showing Jubilee candidate Mike Sonko Mbuvi leading in Nairobi gubernatorial race.

Provisional results indicate that Sonko has garnered 811,995 votes (53.4%) in 3,154 out of 3,378, while ODM's Kidero is second with 653,185 votes (42.95%). Independent candidate Peter Kenneth is third with 40,629 votes (2.67%), while Miguna Miguna follows with 9,679 votes (0.64%).

Kidero has rejected the early poll outcome and has called for fresh physical recount of votes in all polling stations in the County.

Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) senatorial candidate Edwin Sifuna, who accompanied Kidero during the press briefing, also rejected results showing Jubilee candidate Johnstone Sakaja was ahead of him.
