Raila Postpones Tuesday's Major Pronouncement to Wednesday
National Super Alliance (NASA) says it has postponed the eagerly awaited pronouncement that was to be made today (Tuesday).
In a statement to the media, the opposition alliance said the date for the major announcement had been rescheduled to Wednesday morning hours.
The coalition said consultations regarding the matter were still ongoing before addressing the nation on Wednesday. "Owing to the urgency, complexity and delicate nature of issues NASA summit is handling, our consultations are ongoing and progressing well. We regret that the consultations are taking longer than anticipated and NASA will therefore not address Kenyans as projected today. NASA will issue a comprehensive statement to the nation tomorrow," the statement read in part.
NASA flag bearer Raila Odinga while addressing supporters in Nairobi's Kibera estate on Sunday said he would be making a major announcement on Tuesday on his next course action after his rival President Uhuru Kenyatta was declared the winner of last week's elections.
Uhuru was declared the winner of the August 8th general election by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) on Friday after garnering 8,203,290 votes (54.27pc) against his closest challenger Nasa's Raila Odinga, who was second with 6,762,224 (44.74pc).
Raila and NASA rejected the outcome citing massive rigging to the advantage of President Uhuru.
