Raila, Wetang'ula Blocked from Addressing Prophet Owuor's Prayer Rally
Opposition National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders led by Raila Odinga and Moses Wetangula were left stranded on Sunday after Prophet Dr David Owuor declined to grant them a chance to address thousands of faithfuls who congregated at Central Park in Nairobi for a prayer rally.
The opposition leaders arrived at the venue of the prayer rally after attending a church service at All Saints Cathedral, but walked out moments after the organizers declined to grant them a chance to speak.
Prophet Owuor's followers, carrying twigs and placards, were celebrating the alleged ‘resurrection’ of one of their own identified as Mama Rosa from West Pokot County, who they believe was resurrected by Prophet Owuor.
NASA leaders had organized a series of prayer sessions in the build up to the commencement of the hearing of the Presidential petition on Monday. “We are satisfied with the proceedings at the Supreme Court, Kenyans are crying for justice and no force will subvert the will of the people,” Raila said while adressing journalists at All Saints cathedral earlier in the day.
The former Prime Minister said the journey to Canaan was still on course, stating that they were now in Jericho and headed to the city of Jerusalem. He said that no force on earth will stop the people of Kenya from liberating themselves from political oppression, deceit, corruption and political impunity that characterized the Jubilee government in the last four and a half years.
