Raila: President Uhuru Has Already Conceded Defeat

John Wanjohi Sep 13, 2017

National Super Alliance (NASA) Presidential candidate Raila Odinga says that President Uhuru Kenyatta has already conceded defeat following his declaration that Jubilee would impeach him if he wins the repeat presidential election slated for October 17th.

Speaking during a campaign rally in Kibra, Nairobi on Tuesday, the former Prime Minister said the sentiments by the President showed desperation after Jubilee rigged the August 8th elections that have since been nullified by the Supreme Court.

Accompanied by his co-principals Kalonzo Musyoka, Musalia Mudavadi and Moses Wetang’ula in the campaign, Raila said the tyranny of numbers enjoyed by Jubilee in both the National Assembly and the Senate is as a result of bungled elections. “The IEBC (Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission) stole the elections, from the presidency all the way down to the MCA seats,” Odinga said.

“The numbers Jubilee is bragging about are products of the sham elections,” he added. " Uhuru knows that he did not win the last elections because I defeated him. He had conceded defeat and is now talking of impeaching me,".

Raila sentiments were echoed by his fellow principals at the coalition, who exuded confidence that they will win the October 17th election.

“We want to thank Mr Kenyatta for conceding defeat in favour of Mr Odinga but warn him that the Constitution is very clear on the grounds on which a president can be impeached.” “The statements by Mr Kenyatta were reckless and a mark of an authoritarian regime,” Mudavadi said.
