Deputy President William Ruto was Involved in Election Rigging Scheme, Raila Claims

Opposition Chief Raila Odinga claims that Deputy President William Ruto was part of the August 8th General Election rigging gang in favour of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Speaking during a press conference at the Panari Hotel on Sunday, the National Super Alliance presidential candidate alleged that the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) CEO, Ezra Chiloba, worked with Deputy President to manipulate election results to the advantage of President Uhuru.

Raila further accused French Biometrics firm, Safran Morpho of engaging in discussions with IEBC officials to interfere with the August poll.

"Why should Kenya trust these institutions? Is it because the IEBC went to a retreat and buried their hatchet? Is it because Safran gave itself a clean of bill? Is it because IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba answered the Chebukati memo and gave it to DP William Ruto?" asked Raila.

The former Prime Minister maintained that that OT-Morpho KIEMS kits that were used cannot be trusted to run another election.

He also reiterated that the Electoral Commission colluded with the Jubilee Government to rig him out, referring to the two parties as ‘partners in crime’.

The Orange Democratic Leader launched a campaign against the October repeat election. He said that Kenyans will not allow IEBC, as currently constituted to conduct another election.

Raila said IEBC CEO Ezra Chiloba, Commissioner Andi Guliye, Betty Nyabuto – Deputy Commission Secretary (Operations), James Muhati, Director ICT, Immaculate Kassait, Director Voter Registration and Elections Operations, Praxedes Tororey, Director Legal and Public Affairs and Moses Kipkogey, Manager Legal Department be shown the door.

"I urge this officials to salvage what they can and run. Kenyans are coming for you," Raila said.
