President Uhuru Gives Former Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua Top Job at State House

Former Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua has landed a top job at State House.

Kinuthia lost in the race for Jubilee party ticket to former National Transport and Safety Authority Chairman Lee Kinyanjui, but President Uhuru prevailed upon him to drop the bid to defend his seat on an Independent ticket and promised him a job.

Reports indicate that the former County boss will now be handling President Uhuru Kenyatta’s diary.

The new job comes with heavy responsibility, but given the experience Mbugua has, it will help him in carrying out his new role effectively.

“I’m serving the government and the people of Kenya in a new role,” Mbugua said.

Former Nakuru deputy governor Joseph Rutto confirmed that Kinuthia had landed the job, although he did not give much details on the same.

Kinuthia was spotted at a meeting where President Kenyatta invited Northern Kenya leaders to the State House in Nairobi on Wednesday.

Kinuthia served as Administration Police commandant prior to being elected Nakuru governor in 2013 general elections. He also previously served as a District Commissioner during President Moi's era.
