Raila: Our Faith in IEBC Remains Zero

Opposition leader Raila Odinga has denied that an agreement was reached between him and the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) at a meeting held at the Bomas of Kenya on Tuesday.

Speaking during at a media briefing on Wednesday at the Okoa Kenya offices in Lavington, the former Prime Minister said the meeting dis not bear any fruits. On Tuesday evening, the electoral commission termed the talks as fruitful after meeting both Jubilee and Nasa, a claim that Raila has dismissed.

"Let no one say that we have any agreement or arrangement with the IEBC. We do not. As it stands, our faith in the IEBC remains zero," said Odinga at the Okoa Kenya offices in Lavington.

Raila said the conditions dubbed "irreducible minimums" they submitted to IEBC must be met before the repeat election is conducted.

"We presented a document of things we wanted implemented before we go to the fresh polls. They gave us a matrix which does not respond to any of the fundamental issues we raised," said Odinga.

He added: "Nothing is agreed until it is totally agreed."

He maintained that their bi-weekly anti-IEBC demonstrations every Monday and Friday will go on until IEBC chief executive Ezra Chiloba and 11 other officials vacate from office.

Raila and his team also want Dubai-based printing firm Al Ghurair and French biometrics firm, OT-Morpho be blocked from being part of the fresh poll.
