Brace Yourself for a Huge Defeat, President Uhuru Tells Raila
President Uhuru Kenyatta has told his rival Raila Odinga of National Super Alliance to prepare for a huge lose in the repeat presidential election slated for October 26th.
Addressing a series of rallies in Meru County on Friday, the head of state exuded confidence that he will trounce the opposition leader with even a bigger gap than that of the cancelled August 8th election.
The President accused the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) of attempting to rise tp power through unorthodox means, after realizing that he can't win the Presidency in an election.
He maintained that Jubilee agreed to a repeat election, because their opponents were banking on their refusal to accept the Supreme Court ruling and plunge the country into violence. This, he said would have given them an avenue to demand for a coalition government.
“We agreed to go a second round election not because we are cowards or that we never won the election, because we love peace and a unified Kenya,” said the President.
He added: “They wanted conflict so as to get a place in a nusu mkate (coalition government).
We choose the ballot instead of conflict,” said the President.
“We defeated our opponent by 1.5 million votes but this time we are sure we will win with a bigger margin,” Deputy President William Ruto, who accompanied the President said.
“We are telling our brother from the other side there is no room for a coalition government and they should agree once and for all that we go for an election and finish this business without running to court and accusing the IEBC,” said Uhuru.
The two urged Meru voters to turn out in large numbers and vote for Jubilee in the upcoming election.
