Foreigners Only Welcome to Kenya as Tourists, President Uhuru Tells Raila

President Uhuru Kenyatta has maintained that foreigners are not welcome to Kenya to help negotiate for a coalition government.

Speaking while on a campaign trail in Nyeri County on Sunday, the head of state said that the foreigners are only welcome to Kenya as tourists.

"I categorically say that my government will not allow foreigners to meddle in our political affairs. He can call them from wherever he wishes but just as tourists to bring us revenue nothing more than that," Uhuru said.

Uhuru further said that while it is the constitutional right for opposition to demonstrate and picket, his government will not tolerate looting and destruction of property.

"You cannot say it is peaceful demonstrations when people are being robbed. How can it be peaceful when cars are destroyed and peoples property. How can you dare even attack a police station. I want to tell them, attack a police station at your own risk. You will meet the wrath of those who are there," he said.

Uhuru accused Raila of hiding behind anti-IEBC protests to derail the October 26th election, adding that they are aware he is pushing for a 'nusu mkate' government.

Uhuru said that there is no crisis in the country as Raila has made it appear.

"We are not in any crisis and we shall not allow anything to do with foreigners," he said.
