Endorse Me So I Can Remove President Uhuru from Power, Ekuru Aukot Tells Raila

John Wanjohi Oct 18, 2017

Thirdway Alliance presidential candidate Ekuru Aukot has called on National Super Alliance (NASA) leader Raila Odinga to endorse him so he can oust President Uhuru Kenyatta from power.

Aukot said that with Raila's support, he will be able to remove the Jubilee administration from power in the repeat presidential election scheduled for October 26th.

"As a matter of fact, I wouldn't mind if Raila supported me now that he is not interested in the election. It is the only fair way to remove Uhuru from power. I'll talk to him and I will be happy if he endorses my candidature,” Aukot remarked.

This comes only a day after Aukot and Raila exchanged words over the repeat fresh election, with Aukot dismissing Raila as a person who represents politics of the past. This was after Raila hit out at Aukot for agreeing to be part of the repeat election contrary to his earlier stand that reforms must be undertaken first before the election.

In a rejoinder, Aukot said he does not care what Raila thinks of him, adding that he can't stop him from contesting in the repeat election.

“Raila represents the past, the kind of politics we want to rout out. This country is for all of us in equal measure. I would never want to respond to people who communicate nothing in huge crowds,".

“I don’t care what he thinks (Raila Odinga), he won’t stop me,” stressed Aukot.

Raila had on Sunday called on Aukot's wife to divorce him for being a traitor.
