US Embassy in Nairobi Dismisses Reports of Ambassador Robert Godec's Recalling to Washington

Robert Godec, the United States Ambassador to Kenya has not been recalled to Washington, the US embassy in Kenya has said.

In a statement on its social media account, the US Embassy said that reports indicating that Godec had been recalled by his country were a "complete fabrication."

" This is a complete fabrication," the US Embassy in Nairobi said in a caption on a screenshot of a website that claimed the ambassador had been recalled.

On Tuesday and Wednesday, a screenshot of a website with a story headlined “Robert Godec, US ambassador to Kenya recalled to Washington” was highly circulated by a section of Kenyans on Twitter and Facebook.
