Kenyans Online React to US-Based Scholar Makau Mutua's Tweet about Thursday's Repeat Poll
Kenyan online have roasted New York-based Kenyan law scholar Makau Mutua over a Tweet questioning the legitimacy of Uhuru's Presidency after Thursday's repeat presidential election.
Makau, a fierce critic of President Uhuru Kenyatta and the Jubilee government said that opposition leader Raila Odinga won the repeat Presidential election from the look of what the incumbent garnered.
He said that the two-thirds of Kenyans who obeyed Raila's call not to vote confirmed that he is the winner of the poll.
“Two-thirds of Kenyans voted for Odinga by boycotting the election. Less than one-third voted for Kenyatta. Who’s the president?” Makau tweeted.
Two-thirds of Kenyans voted for Odinga by boycotting the election. Less than one-third voted for Kenyatta. Who’s the president?

However, his tweet sparked an online outrage from a section of Kenyans. Here are a number of reactions from Kenyans.
Very silly analytics ....turn out in August was 75% ,just because someone didn't not vote does not mean they agree with NASA...

With all due respect, professor, but isn’t that a bit too simplistic?

Those in NASA...stop talking about the voter turnout..u can't drop out in form 3 and you still want to discus kcse results.

Very shallow analysis! So according to you this was a referendum between boycotting and turnout?
