Miguna Miguna Joins Raila's National Resistance Movement, Declares Himself General

John Wanjohi Nov 04, 2017

Former Nairobi governor aspirant Miguna Miguna has formally joined Raila's National Resistance Movement (NRM).

Speaking during a press briefing at Raila's Capitol Hill office in Nairobi on Saturday, the former Canada-based lawyer said he was attracted to NRM by its agenda to resist an illegitimate government.

The "Peeling Back the Mask" author further termed October 26th repeat poll as President Uhuru Kenyatta's selection and not election.

“The exercise on October 26th was not an election it was a selection. Uhuru did not win the elections,” Miguna said.

In a tweet on Friday, Miguna announced he had joined the movement created by National Super Alliance (NASA) at the rank of General, in charge of operations.

"ANNOUNCEMENT: I've enlisted with the #NRM at the rank of GENERAL in charge of operations! We must win!
#DemocracyNotDictatorship !
#Resist," He posted.

Miguna was flanked by other Nasa leaders led by Siaya senator James Orengo.

“We are glad to announce that we officially launched the NRM and we will continue telling Kenyans to boycott Bidco, Safaricom and Brookside products,” Orengo said during the media briefing.

“As you know article one of the constitution states that any government formed against the law is not legitimate. We must salvage Kenyans from Jubilee,” Orengo said.

Miguna contested for Nairobi gubernatorial seat on an independent candidate but lost to Jubilee's Mike Sonko.
