NASA-Leaning County Assemblies to Pass Motions Denouncing Uhuru Kenyatta's Presidency

John Wanjohi Nov 06, 2017

County Assemblies in National Super Alliance (NASA)-leaning areas are scheduled to pass motions denouncing the declaration of Uhuru Kenyatta as President following the October 26th repeat presidential election.

The opposition alliance says the motions will be tabled in respective county assemblies on Thursday this week.

Siaya Senator James Orengo said the county assemblies will also endorse the formation of recently announced People's Assembly to spearhead Nasa's agenda at the grassroot level.

“In Kilifi, the MCAs have begun debating a motion on secession and as NASA, we are telling them they have every right to contemplate such a move. The assemblies are also expected to endorse the people’s assembly,” Orengo said during a rally in Kibera on Sunday.

During the rally, the leaders maintained that Nasa will resist President Uhuru using all means and threatened to swear-in Raila Odinga as President. “This time we are totally prepared and we will not be intimidated by a fake government. We know the Constitution and in the next two weeks we will tell Kenyans the way forward,” Orengo said.

“We must resist Uhuru... and eject him from State House. If you go to Kasarani for Uhuru’s swearing-in, we shall go to Nyayo stadium to swear in Raila,” former Kakamega senator Boni Khalwalwe said.
