Raila: NASA Will Remain Faithful to the Constitution as it Rejects Uhuru

National Super Alliance (Nasa) leader Raila Odinga says that the coalition will be guided by the law and the constitution in its plan to resist president Uhuru's Jubilee government.

Speaking during an interview with CNN on Wednesday, Raila stressed that Nasa will remain faithful to the law in all its operations to push for electoral justice.

“This matter is cast within our coalition, and among our experts, our strategy team so I want to leave it to them to come up with clear roadmap…What I can assure everyone is that whatever we do is going to be lawful, it is going to be within our constitution," Odinga told CNN.

He added: "We know that on August 8, Kenyans voted for Raila who emerged winner. Raila and Kalonzo won that election. What we have done will always be in the framework of the constitution."

This comes only days after Odinga declared that he will be sworn in as president by the people's assembly on December 12th. Last Friday, Nasa denounced Uhuru's presidency and vowed to recognize Odinga and Musyoka as duly elected President and deputy President respectively.

Nasa chief campaigner Musalia Mudavadi has said that the coalition recognizes Raila as the legitimately elected president, saying "we recognise Raila as the legitimate president of Kenya and as sovereign people we will see to it that they assume office."
