Kalonzo Launches His 2022 Presidential Bid
Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has launched his bid for Presidency in the 2022 general elections.
A section of Wiper elected leaders have announced Kalonzo's ambition barely a week after President Kenyatta and Deputy President William Ruto took Oath of Office for the second term.
Addressing a rally at Kathiani in Machakos county, the leaders led by Wiper acting Chairman and Makueni Governor Professor Kivutha Kibwana said that Kalonzo's bid for the country's top political office is unstoppable.
Kalonzo addressed the crowd through phone from Germany, where he has been over the past one month attending to his sick wife, Pauline who is admitted at a hospital in the European country. The Nasa leader asked supporters for blessings, saying that his dream to lead the country is alive.
The leaders, who included Ben Momanyi (Borabu), Rashid Kassim (Wajir Township), Joshua Mwalyo (Masinga) and Jessica Mbalu (Kibwezi East) were speaking after visiting area MP Robert Mbui, who is recuperating at his home after being injured in a police clash with Nasa supporters in Nairobi last month.
Kibwana said they have began mobilizing resources and voters across the country to propel Kalonzo to State House. “Wiper is a national party because we managed to get seats from across the country."
Kitui Senator Enoch Wambua said: “Our party leader will be a presidential candidate and this calls for dedication, commitment and sacrifice because it is not an easy task. Whatever happens on the way let us not lose our focus on the big prize because this is the only opportunity we have."
