Journey to Canaan still on Course, Wetang'ula assures NASA Supporters

John Wanjohi Dec 18, 2017

National Super Alliance (Nasa) co-principal Moses Wetang’ula has called on supporters to remain patient and loyal, while assuring them that the journey to Canaan is still on course.

The Bungoma senator further assured supporters that the inauguration of opposition chief Raila Odinga as people's president had not been called off, noting that it had only been postponed to a later dare.

“We have only postponed the swearing of Raila as the Peoples’ president and this does not mean that we have cancelled the swearing-in ceremony,’’ he said.

“Nasa supporters should be patient and loyal to their leader as the journey to Canaan is still on course’’ assured Wetang’ula.

The Ford Kenya leader was speaking at his Kanduyi home on Sunday, where he also reiterated the coalition's willingness to enter into dialogue with president Uhuru on how to move the country forward. He also commended religious leaders and foreign envoys for their role in spearheading reconciliation talks between Jubilee and Nasa leaders for the sake of the country.

Wetang'ula spoke even as ODM leader Odinga declared that he will take Oath of Office as president, although did not specify when.

“No one will stop me from lifting the bible to take the oath,” said Raila at Sun n Sand beach resort in Kilifi county on Sunday, where he presided over the inaugural people's assembly meeting for the coast region.
