NASA to Make Announcement on Raila's Swearing-in
National Super Alliance (NASA) chief Raila Odinga says the coalition will on Sunday disclose more details on his pending ‘swearing-in’. Speaking at Mahanga Village in Vihiga County during a burial ceremony for the 16 victims who died in a road crash at Kamukuya Bridge on the Webuye-Kitale highway, the opposition leader said Nasa would not succumb to threats in its quest for electoral justice.
“Uhuru thinks Kenyans have given up, he is wrong because we shall go ahead with our plans, and the committee will give us more details of what to expect,” Raila said.
“Being the duly elected president, I will not hesitate to carry the bible on the day to be announced to Kenyans tomorrow”.
Odinga maintained the opposition does not recognize the October 26th poll presidential poll won by Uhuru, stating it was not held as the Supreme Court advised when cancelling the August 8th one.
On the issue of road carnage, Raila said the National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) was to blame and accused the government of laxity in implementing road safety policies. On his part, NASA co-principal Musalia Mudavadi said the date for Odinga's inauguration will be announced soon. Speaking on Tuesday at the funeral of late Kitui West MP Francis Nyenze, Odinga said he is ready to die by taking oath of office. “If death is the price that we must pay that Kenyans get electoral justice, that there is no more election rigging in future, we are ready to pay that price. We will be sworn in wafanye kile wanataka kufanya (let them do what they want) ,” said Odinga amid cheers from his supporters.
