John Wanjohi Dec 28, 2017

Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has finally broken his silence on the planned swearing-in of opposition leader Raila Odinga and himself as President and Deputy President respectively.

Speaking in Kyondoni village, Kitui County when he visited the burial site of the late Kitui West MP Francis Nyenze, who was laid to rest last week, Kalonzo warned President Kenyatta that the opposition will go ahead with the inauguration if he refuses to engage them in dialogue.

"I am telling my brother Uhuru Kenyatta if he abdicates the responsibility of uniting this nation, he should not blame Raila and Kalonzo when we say there will be a swearing in ceremony," He said.

"If they don’t want talks on how to ensure the electoral malpractices are finished then they can be sure Raila and Kalonzo will be sworn in,” The Wiper leader added.

Kalonzo called for talks that will culminate to a fresh presidential election within a period of two years.

Kalonzo, who has been in Germany for the last 10 weeks attending to his ailing wife, Pauline arrived back to the country on Wednesday morning. During the time, the Nasa co-principal kept a low profile and did not issue any statements regarding the inauguration of the opposition leader.
