NASA Headed for a Major Split, Wiper MP Says

John Wanjohi Dec 30, 2017

A Wiper Party Member of Parliament says that he has a premonition that opposition National Super Alliance (NASA) is headed for a major split due to internal squabbles.

Mwingi Central MP Gideon Mulyungi said the opposition outfit will sink soon, unless co-principals move fast to address the existing disquiet in the coalition, caused by unfair sharing of positions in Parliament.

However, the first time Parliamentarian said that Wiper will front its leader Kalonzo Musyoka for Presidency in 2022, with or without NASA. He further noted that party will not care whether Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga will endorse Musyoka for the country's top seat.

Mulyungi also reiterated his earlier threats of leading Wiper leaders in walking out of Nasa if ODM continues to dictate what happens in the alliance.

“Kalonzo has asked for this seat for a long time. We’ll support him to be the flagbearer in a coalition that will be formed. If there will be no coalition, Kalonzo is man enough to run alone. He will win. All Kambas will definitely support him — even those who defected — as there will be no option,” the MP said.
