Orengo: Preparations for Raila's Inauguration Complete

John Wanjohi Jan 04, 2018

Preparations for the inauguration of National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders Raila Odinga and Kalonzo Musyoka as people's president and deputy president are complete, Siaya senator James Orengo says.

Orengo said the opposition outfit is keen to see Odinga take the country's leadership from President Kenyatta and urged supporters not to give up over the delays in swearing in of Raila as the 'people's president'.

“Raila will be sworn in and those who think he will not are dreaming. This is the year of change in Kenya and that change will be realised when Raila takes oath of office as the President of Kenya,” said Orengo.

This comes even as NASA told supporters it will be unveiling a timetable for resumption of mass protests and civil disobedience against the Jubilee administration.

Opposition leaders have vowed they will take oath of office if President Kenyatta doesn't want dialogue in electoral justice.

"My supporters should not panic, I am soon going to take the oath. I feel your concern," Raila said on Christmas day.

"I am telling my brother Uhuru Kenyatta if he abdicates the responsibility of uniting this nation, he should not blame Raila and Kalonzo when we say there will be a swearing in ceremony," Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka said a day after returning to the country from Germany.
