Raila's Swearing-in will Confirm Africa is a Shithole Continent, Machakos Governor Mutua Says

Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua has taken a dig at National Super Alliance (NASA) over the planned swearing in of its leader Raila Odinga.

Mutua appeared to back United States President Donald Trump over his recent remarks, where he allegedly described African nations as shithole countries during a meeting with legislators at the White House.

The Governor said that it is such plans by the opposition coalition that give relevance to the remarks made by the US leader.

”This swearing in business by NASA is another example of why some people consider our continent to be a shithole continent. How do you get “sworn” in when a tough Chief Justice has already sworn in another leader? Only in Africa. Shame!” Governor Mutua exclaimed.

He continued: "As an individual, a Governor and as a Party Leader, I ask these leaders that I respect, to stop these games and let me and my generations and the millennials get on with our lives. We want to initiate amazing development. We want services and not demos. We want peace and not violence. We want to attend weddings and baby showers and not funerals. We want our lives back from these leaders who have been playing with them. We want to be given respect and not seen as children of a Shithole land.” Mutua said.

He sees the swearing in threat by Odinga as an attempt to negotiate for a coalition government with President Uhuru, like was the case after the 2007 disputed presidential election.

”My instinct tells me that the NASA brigade wants to force a dialogue for nusu mkate as has been done before. The bravado for swearing in is so that they can pour youth to the streets and start burning the country so that the rest of us who desire peace, tell President Uhuru to give them what they want. It is called blackmail. Only happens in a Shithole country,” Mutua added.

The opposition has maintained the inauguration ceremony will be held on January 30th.
