NASA MPs Told to Boycott Vetting of Ambassadors, Principal Secretaries

National Super Alliance (Nasa) Members of Parliament are set to skip the vetting of Principal Secretaries (PSs) and Ambassadors who were recently nominated by President Uhuru.

John Mbadi, the Minority Leader in the National Assembly said opposition MPs will boycott the crucial process set for this week, just like they gave a wide berth to the vetting of nine new Cabinet Secretaries two weeks ago.

“Nothing has really changed. Our members will not attend those committee sittings unless they are advised otherwise,” Mbadi said.

Those set for vetting by Parliament inlude Principal Secretary nominees Nelson Marwa (Devolution), Julius Muia (Planning), Safina Kwekwe (Gender), Hamadi Boga (Agriculture Research), Peter Tum (Health), Gordon Kihalagwa (Immigration) and Macharia Kamau (Foreign Affairs) among others.

Ambassadors to be vetted are Judy Wakhungu ( France ), Cleopa Mailu (United Nations), Dan Kazungu (Tanzania), Phylis Kandie (Belgium), Willy Bett (India), Jacob Kaimenyi (UNEP), Abdikadir Mohammed (South Korea) and Hassan Wario (Austria).
