American Tennis Starlet Serena Williams Expresses Her 'Love' for Kenya
American Tennis starlet Serena Williams has expressed her 'love' for Kenya, describing the East African country as "one of my favorite places to go."
Responding to a question by BBC sports about plans of setting up a Women Tennis Association (WTA) tour in Africa, in what would be the first for the continent, Serena said it is something that that she has "thought about".
"It is something I have thought about and I would like to keep thinking about it. I’m glad you brought it up because I think it would be amazing," she said.
"It would be so fun - the help that we could do, and the awareness and the athletes and the amazing players that would come out of Africa would just be unbelievable.”
The 23-time Grand Slam singles champion further said that Kenya is where she would want the event to be staged, adding “it’s one of my favourite places to go, so why not?”
She said she expects to return to the WTA Tour soon, just six months after giving birth.
