Kenyan MPs Raise Storm over Mysterious Woman Who Keeps Sending Nude Photos of Herself to their Phones
Members of Parliament on Tuesday opened up on the untold suffering caused by a woman who has been constantly sending nude photos of herself to their mobile phones.
A majority of the MPs lamented that the actions of the unidentified lady are putting their marriages at the risk of breakup.
Speaking at the floor of the House, National Assembly Majority leader Aden Duale and Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa narrated how the woman, whom they declined to name, has made them afraid to use their phones in public or while with their families.
“There is a lady who has numbers of all MPs and she keeps sending us nude photos,” said Duale.
“Just recently, the same lady sent me something and I tried to open it… the sounds that came out of it made it difficult to speak in my house. This matter is breaking families,” said Wamalwa.
Minority Whip in the National Assembly Junet Mohamed also shared his side of the story. “Some of the pictures I have here are parts of a naked human being, if I show you, you cannot even look with your eyes,” he said to laughter from his colleagues.
“A situation arises where I am at home and I give my son a phone to play games in the phone and the messages start coming…,” he added.
“Male MPs think they are the ones being seduced alone, even us female MPs are being seduced left, right and center,” Baringo Woman Representative Kaptuya Cheboiwo said. “If you have a husband who has weak shock absorbers, you can easily get divorced.”
The debate arose after Murang’a County Woman Representative Sabina Wanjiru Chege lamented about conmen who access their contacts from sources in Parliament.
Consequently, National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi ordered the Internal Security Committee to summon the Criminal Investigations Directorate boss, Inspector General of Police, Communications Authority director as well as mobile service providers to appear before it within 7 days.
