Mudavadi Lashes Out at Raila, Accuses Him of Betrayal
Amani National Congress (ANC) party leader Musalia Mudavadi has lashed out at National Super Alliance (Nasa) chief Raila Odinga over what he termed as betrayal.
In an interview with the Standard, the Nasa co-principal dismissed the recent unity pact reached between Odinga and President Kenyatta, terming it as hollow and inconsequential.
“It remains hollow without a public interest agenda and institutional framework to set it off," Mudavadi said.
He added: "We in NASA had a National Agenda on dialogue which isn’t mentioned in the handshake document."
The former Sabatia Member of Parliament further noted that Raila threw out everything that Nasa had been fighting for, by reaching out to the Head of State.
“With the imminent departure of ODM from NASA to merge with Jubilee, new political permutations and alignments will emerge that will make NASA even much stronger."
“I am still reading between lines to find the hidden text related to issues affecting Kenyans that NASA stands for,” he remarked during an interview with the Standard.
Mudavadi was conspicuously absent during Nasa meeting on Thursday, where co-principals sought to rescue Bungoma senator Moses Wetang'ula from removal as the Senate Minority leader. He, however, stated he had other commitments.
"The handshake will be meaningful if it opened the servers so that we know the final truth about the elections,” Mudavadi stated during the interview.
