Raila Received Sh25 Billion Bribe from Jubilee to Abandon NASA Push for Electoral Reforms, Wiper Party Deputy Leader Says

Wiper deputy party leader Farah Maalim now claims that National Super Alliance (Nasa) leader Raila Odinga was offered huge sums of cash by President Kenyatta administration to abandon the coalition's quest for electoral justice and reforms.

Speaking to KTN on Tuesday, Maalim said that Raila disclosed to them that Jubilee had offered him Sh25 billion during a meeting at Wiper headquarters, but he turned down the deal.

The former National Assembly deputy Speaker said he now believes that the unity pact recently reached between the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader and President Kenyatta was after money exchanged hands.

"While addressing us during a meeting at Wiper headquarters, Raila said he was offered Sh5 billion to drop the Nasa quest, which he rejected. He was then offered Sh10 billion, then Sh15 billion, then Sh20 billion, and then Sh25 billion," Maalim said.

Maalim further claimed that the offers were made progressively in tranches of Sh5 billion, an indication that Odinga was negotiating for a improved perk.

"I was inclined to ask, if you want to buy something from me at Ksh 100 and I tell you that I am not selling it, why then would you offer to pay more for what is not on sale? For them (Jubilee) to keep escalating the offer all the way to KSh 25 billion, there must have been counter demands," Maalim said.

"This country has been taken for a ride by the political class from the opposition for far too long. Everything revolves around commercial transaction of politics itself. That is why we keep building one coalition after the other," Maalim said in apparent reference to Raila.
