Miguna Miguna Supporters in the US to Hold Demonstration in New York

John Wanjohi Apr 01, 2018

Self-declared National Resistance Movement (NRM) general Miguna Miguna's supporters in the United States are planning to hold a demonstration in protest of the hostility meted on him by the Kenyan government.

Miguna backers will reportedly stage a peaceful protest outside the United Nations headquarters in New York to bring to the attention of the international community the injustices committed by the government on the former Nairobi gubernatorial aspirant.

The firebrand lawyer was thrown out of the country for the second time on Wednesday night, despite numerous court orders directing for his release.

His deportation came after he landed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport from Canada on Monday afternoon, but Immigration authorities denied him entry after he reportedly refused to comply to clearance procedures at the airport.

He is currently stranded in Dubai, where he was taken ill moments after a flight that ferried him from Kenya landed. Miguna has insisted he will not agree to be flown to any other destination other than Kenya.
